around Villa Joyamia

Treat yourself to the timeless tuscan landscape and panoramic views of endless rollings hills draped in olive groves and vineyards. Villa Joyamia is located in a strategic area near the most important historic art cities and many middle age towns starting from Vinci, Leonardo’s birth place. This little town, can be admired directly from the garden terrace and be easily reached driving through olive orchards crossing an outstanding country side. Leonardo’s birthplace is the starting point of a network of trails, on foot or by bicycle, ascending the slopes of Montalbano.

Vinci is known for an excellent wine (Chianti DOCG and olive oil. Driving along the “Oil and Wine Roads of Loenardo’s Montalbano hills”, you can visit several farms and taste different wines and other typical local products. The vineyards of these areas produce the prized Chianti Montalbano as well as other wines as big as the dell’Empolese Bianco DOC, the DOC Colli Etruria Centrale, the Cerreto IGT and, of course, the Vin Santo.

The medieval village of Vinci, a seven-minute drive away, offers a variety of small shops, restaurants, cafés, the Leonardo da Vinci museum and a fortified castle open to visitors. The thermal spa town of Montecatini Terme is 30 minutes by car. Florence 40 minutes. The city was a center of medieval European trade and finance. It is often considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and was long ruled by the Medici family. Florence is also famous for its fine art and architecture. It is said that, of the 1,000 most important European artists of the second millennium, 350 lived or worked in Florence.
Lucca and Pisa 45 minutes, San Gimignano, Castellina in Chianti or the Tuscan coast: 60; Siena: 80; Bologna: 90; Cinque Terre: 2 hours.

Tuscany is one of the regions with a millenary culinary history and San Miniato (15min drive from the villa) is one of the most famous medieval cities also for the delicacy of the white truffle. Here, for the White Truffle Festival, during the last three weeks of November, where outdoor tasting stands line the streets with culinary artistry.

Golf lovers will find a brand new course in Bellosguardo which also provides many sporting activities managed by the Bellosguardo Vinci Amateur Sports Golf Club. Bellosguardo enjoys a unique position in the hills overlooking Vinci and offers its guests a charming journey, both from technical and landscape points of view.

Horse riding will give you the opportunity to enjoy the most authenitc sights, sounds and smells of the Chianti region away from the busy city! Ride through lush vineyards, native woods, olive groves and rolling hills to offer you a collection of breathtaking and unforgettable views.
